Review: If Warner Brothers and Disney Animation Studios has ever had a child who might appoint him lighting. Machines for Despicable Me in this wacky piece of old school cartoons and apply the animation technology of the 21st century to produce modern and well articulated masterpiece. From beginning to end, the movie is very attractive and sophisticated with an interesting story and imaginative characters. All characters are well defined, but I found Jason Segals Victor / Vector villain particularly inspired. Little Yella men are equally attractive and I think they'll probably have their own aisle in toy stores soon. Carells crazy big evil perfect tone, like Julie Andrews, the new voice adds a pleasant note as obnoxious mother. Juvenile vocals brought infamy and sweetness to the story, and Kristen fawning Whiig is substantially the southern way. Humor is rich, with winks to classic cinema as a taxi driver, Apollo XIII, and more. Bank of Evil is occupied by former Lehman Brothers execs, and recurring themes and create joke comic continuity, suffering through loans. Dispicable me was my second choice, but I'm very happy now he's running a little late at night. |
